You can purchase an Ethernet adapter from Google for just $15 ( or get this one from Amazon) that plugs into your wall outlet and into the Micro USB port of the Chromecast. That doesn’t mean you can’t retrofit yours with one, however. While the Chromecast with Google TV already rocks an Ethernet port to deliver 4K Ultra HD content, the standard Chromecast does not.
